Our strategic design process

We build websites with a four-stage process:

  1. Strategy & planning
  2. Copy & communication
  3. Design & development
  4. Marketing, measuring and improving

Strategy and Planning

Determining the reason you’re building a site is the most important part of the process and sadly, the one that’s most often skipped.

We look at these factors to establish a solid strategy before starting your web project:

  • Goals. What is the purpose of the website? What results are you looking to achieve?
  • Message. What do you want to communicate to visitors? Your website needs to answer three questions for visitors:
    1. Who is this site for—is it me?
    2. What can I do here—am I in the right place?
    3. Why should I pay attention—what will I get?
  • Buyers. Who is your ideal visitor? How do you want them to perceive you and your site? Without a personal connection to your buyers, they simply won’t do business with you.
  • Competitors. Who are your top-ranked competitors? What are they doing right? What opportunities have they missed that you can take advantage of?

Copy and communication

Most web companies will leave it up to you to write your own copy. We’ve found that most of the time that leads to stress and delay, so we give you the choice of working with our content writer. Professionally written content is the easiest way to help you communicate:

  • Your message
  • To your audience
  • In your voice

All in support of your goals.

Design and development

This is where it all comes together. In this phase we craft your website so it appeals to your customers and meets your goals, achieving the perfect balance between form and function. Learn more about the elements of a strategic website.

Marketing, measuring and improving

Contrary to what you may have seen in the movies, if you build it, they don’t come. At least not always, and not straight away.

We care about your long-term success, so once we’ve built your site we can help you market to your perfect clients. We track and measure how visitors are reacting and make recommendations for continuous improvements.

“I liked Marama’s straight forward, no nonsense style. She was upfront about everything, patient and helpful. I’m very happy with the service. I can’t think of any areas that may need improvement.”
